What should I do as soon as I download the app?

Set up your household first — give it a name and pick your timezone. Next add your family members (and pets if you like), then invite your partner and older kids so they can sign in. After that, choose your usual supermarket and start adding this week's calendar events, jobs and dinners.

How long does it take to load up my grocery list with photos and our own items?

Accepted Answer

Your list already comes with 149 everyday items across grocery and hardware aisles, so you can start shopping straight away. Adding your own brands takes about 10–20 seconds each — type the name, snap a photo and pick the aisle. Most families have their regular shop fully set up in 20–30 minutes, and you only ever do it once.

Does everyone in the family have to pay?

No. One $4.99 AUD monthly payment covers the whole household. Everyone you invite joins free.

What is SORTED Business, and can I have both?

SORTED Business is a separate workspace for business owners — jobs, supplies, safety items, bills and team messages. Staff and employees can't sign up to it themselves; the owner invites them in and they join free, and the owner decides what the team can see. One workspace is $4.99 a month, or have Family and Business together under one login for $8.99 a month and switch between them with one tap.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — new eligible owners get one month free. Enter card details through Square after choosing Family, Business or Both. After the free month, billing starts automatically at $4.99 AUD/month for one workspace or $8.99 for Both unless you cancel. One trial per owner; invited members join free. Unsubscribe in Settings → Subscription with a short confirmation.

Are there instructional videos inside the app?

Yes. Full section-by-section videos show setup and how to use the app. Business users can follow the same controls, with business wording and examples in their workspace.

How do I put the app on my phone's home screen?

Accepted Answer

On iPhone open sortedfamily.com.au in Safari, tap Share then Add to Home Screen. On Samsung/Android open it in Chrome, tap the menu then Install app or Add to Home screen. The user manual in Help has pictures for each step.

Will my partner actually use it?

Accepted Answer

Invite them from Settings → Our family. Start by assigning them one job or adding them to one calendar event — once they get a phone alert that's useful, it sticks.

Who can see our information?

Accepted Answer

Only the people in your household. You choose who can see each area, private events stay private, and locked notes can only be opened by the person who wrote them.

Can the kids use it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Children can have their own sign-in, see their jobs, earn stars and rewards and play the family games, while adults keep control of money and settings.

Does it work with bad reception in the shops?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your list is saved on your phone, so you can keep ticking items off with poor signal and it catches up when you're back online.

The app looks out of date — what do I do?

Tap App refresh once, then tap it again. That loads the newest version and your latest family information.
